Try something new and challenge yourself to make an elegant wooden toy

Make a beautiful wooden toy for your child or grandchild to cherish in this hands-on two day workshop in the run-up to Christmas with artist and craftsman Josep Navarro.

Children aged from 4 upwards are welcome to join you at no extra cost: you can spend time together and nurture their creativity. If you don't have a child handy – for example, you want to make a toy for a grandchild who lives overseas – you are still most welcome.

Josep Navarro

An artist, craftsman and teacher, Josep explores the relationship between art and engineering.

His art training started at the age of five with a tutor who would not allow him to draw lions until he could draw perfectly shaded three-dimensional balls. His love of art developed into a passion for invention and design, which led him to initially study engineering for two years before returning full circle and studying art. He graduated from the University of Barcelona in fine art and subsequently gained two master's degrees, one in ecology and another in education.

Josep has worked in Russia and Morocco. His work has included the restoration of paintings for museums including the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.
