Head back to school: improve your French with this systematic, fast-paced weekly class. You will soon be able to spead, read and write French with panache!

A rigorous weekly evening class for improvers in French that aims to accelerate your basic knowledge into speaking, reading and writing fluent French with confidence, not just parroting sentences cribbed from a phrasebook. The course is based at Hampton Court House, London's leading bilingual French-English school: we have been awarded Institut Français status by the French Government for the quality of our French language teaching.

The approach in this course is active, intensive and exciting; the aim is for your new knowledge to ‘stick’. You will develop your vocabulary by using and manipulating the language. There will be an opportunity to practise your spoken French with native speakers from the worlds of education, arts, business and politics at the annual Hampton Court House Dîner Francophone for the London French community on Thursday 15 June.

The course is intended for those who already have a basic knowledge of French (some vocabulary and knowledge of the language), especially those with rusty French from school. Eliana welcomes enthusiastic students who want to build up their knowledge. À bientôt!

A fast-paced, systematic, and (most importantly) fun French course for adults

You will gain the skills to use the language, not just crib phrases from a phrasebook. As your knowledge improves, this will help you accelerate the speed with which you can learn the language

Taught by an expert linguist, interpreter and educator. Probably the premier French language class in London and Surrey

Eliana Houstoun-Boswall

Eliana had a French education from the age of four, culminating in the baccalauréat. She later studied Russian at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. before taking a postgraduate diploma in interpretation and translation at the prestigious ISIT (Institut Supérieur d'Interprétation et Traduction) in Paris. She has founded two independent schools: first the Harrodian School in Barnes and, latterly, Hampton Court House.

She believes passionately in a systematic approach to learning languages, helping her pupils to build up their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar in layers so that they can construct their own sentences and paragraphs.
